About Janet Skinner

Skinner’s work is represented in galleries, private and corporate collections in Australia & internationally. She is a successful contemporary and traditional artist for more than 30 years. Janet is a published author/illustrator, and has her own solo gallery, ‘Janet Skinner’, in Blackbutt South East Qld.

 

She achieved a world record for an art piece – Coordinated 15 solo exhibitions which included a touring exhibition to Regional Galleries around Queensland – Mentor of Youth and art advisory to Pine River Shire Council for 12 years.

 

Janet was the founder/ owner of ‘Artist Out & About Australia, school of art & design, for 20 years.

  • Entrant – Archibald Portrait Prize, Sydney x 3
  • Painted from life (in situ) 104 railway scenes, Qld/NSW
  • 14 SOLO exhibitions; including touring exhibitions to Queensland Regional Galleries –
    • Caloundra Regional Gallery, Dalby Regional Gallery, Ingham Regional Gallery, Pine Rivers Regional Gallery, RQAS Brisbane, Rockhampton Rail Museum
  • Artworks are represented in private and corporate collections in Australia and internationally
  • Arts advisor to Pine Rivers Shire Council – 12 years
